Car - Class 1

This licence covers vehicles up to 6000Kg
Door to door service.

To be able to drive this class of vehicle, there are three stages that you must progress through.
This is known as the "Graduated Driver Licence System".

The three stages are:
1. Learners Licence. (You must be at least 16 years of age)
2. Restricted Licence. (You must have held your Learners Licence 6months before you can apply for your restricted licence)
3. Full Licence. (You must have held your Restricted Licence if under 25 for 18 months, this can be reduced to 12 months if you take a Street Talk Course or Defensive Driving course once you have held your Restricted for 6 months.
Over 25 then you must hold your Restricted Licence for 6 months, reduced to 3 months if you take a Street
Talk Course or Defensive Driving course. You can do the course immediately your receive your Restricted Licence)

All New Zealand Driving Academy Instructors are New Zealand Transport Agency approved.

Trucks - Class 2

The Class 2 licence course covers a Heavy Rigid Vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of
between 6000kg to 18,000 kg or combination vehicle Gross Combination Mass (GCM)
of between 6000 kg to 12,000 kg.

New Zealand Driving Academy has its trucks which are loaded as per New Zealand Transport Agency
requirements for driver licensing.

New Zealand Driving Academy is New Zealand Transport Agency and NZQA approved. By completing our training programme,
you are able to bypass the six (6) month waiting period on the learners licence and gain your full licence immediately upon
completion of our training programme.

We hold these courses as and when required, to suit our customer’s convenience. That includes weekends and after hours.

Graduates from the course will be credited with these Unit Standards to their NZQA Record of Learning in addition
to receiving the course certificate.

Course includes:
1. Logbooks (Unit Standard 24089)
2. Class 2 theory (Unit Standard 17574)
3. Practical training
4. Assessment

On successful completion of our training programme you will be issued with a certificate, which you will need to take to a
testing agent and have your licence upgraded with no further practical driving test required.
You are NOT licenced to drive on the road until your licence has been upgraded.

Course Pre-requisite
You must have held a Full Class 1 (car) licence for at least six months prior to the course to be eligible to obtain a Class 2 licence.

Truck - Class 4

The Class 4 licence course covers a Heavy Rigid Vehicle with a
Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of more than 18,000 kg.

New Zealand Driving Academy has its trucks which are loaded as per New Zealand Transport Agency
requirements for driver licensing.

New Zealand Driving Academy is New Zealand Transport Agency and NZQA approved.
By completing our training programme, you are able to bypass the six (6) month waiting period on the learners licence and

The Class 5 licence course covers a Heavy Combination Vehicle
with a Gross Combination Mass (GCM) of more than 25,000 kg

requirements for driver licensing.

New Zealand Driving Academy is New Zealand Transport Agency and NZQA approved. By completing our training programme,
you are able to bypass the six (6) month waiting period on the learners licence and gain your full licence immediately upon
completion of our training programme.

We hold these courses as and when required, to suit our customer’s convenience. That includes weekends and after hours.

Graduates from the course will be credited with these Unit Standards to their NZQA Record of Learning in
addition to receiving the course certificate.

1. Logbooks (This is not required should you already hold Unit Standard 24089)
2. Class 5 theory (Unit Standard 17577)
3. Practical training
4. Assessment

On successful completion of our training programme you will be issued with a certificate, which you will need to take to a
testing agent and have your licence upgraded with no further practical driving test required.
You are NOT licenced to drive on the road until your licence has been upgraded.

Course Pre-requisite
To be eligible for your Class 5 licence you must have held a Full Class 4 licence for
Over 25 years of age - 3 months minimum
Under 25 years of age - 6 months minimum

Forklift F Endorsement & Operator Competency Course

New Zealand Driving Academy Ltd provides both the New Zealand Transport Agency
approved courses for "F" endorsement on Drivers Licence, and Operator Competency courses.

These courses are scheduled as and when the need arises, or can be scheduled to meet company requirements for
small groups "on site" or at our premises.

Operator Competency Certification & F Endorsement
The New Zealand Transport Agency approved course is for the "F" Endorsement Certificate for driver licensing purposes for
operation on the roadway.

The "F" Endorsement and the certificate for having met the Operator competency requirements will be issued once the applicant
has meet the required standard.

The course is based on the New Zealand Qualifications Authority Unit Standard 18496 and 10851.
Graduates from the course will be credited with this Unit Standard to their NZQA Record of Learning in addition to receiving the course certificate.

Course Prerequisite
You must hold as a minimum Full Class 1 (car) licence if you wish to have the 'F' Endorsement uplifted onto your drivers licence.
